June 15, 2020Perfect for limited access areaI bought this sensor, to monitor the temp of my transmission on my 98 Volvo. I spliced a 1/8 NPT T adapter into the “outlet” line. I wasn’t able to use a “regular” sized temp sensor, because I didn’t have enough depth in the adapter. AutoMeter expects you to purchase a “short swing” gage in order for this temp sensor to work properly. There was no way I was going to purchase a $60 – $200 gage. In order for this sensor to work with my digital readout gage, I ran a ground wire to the threads of the sensor, this will allow you to use whatever readout gage you want. Hope this helps someone out

September 20, 2017Gauge is working greatI ordered this and the Auto Meter 2277 Metric adapter for my 5.3 LS swap into my 1969 Chevy Truck with stock gauges. . It fits the adapter just fine. . people who are having trouble with the adapters, from what I have been told from Auto Meter are trying to run the senders that come with their Auto Meter gauge and I guess those are different according to Auto Meter. So to clarify, if you run this sender with a 2277 Auto Meter adapter, It will work. . . Hopefully this helps someone in the future. i know i was confused when ordering. happy to report, it works.

February 27, 2020Routed into stock gauge for LS swapGet a metric to standard converter and plug into the block at cyliner 7, then run a wire from that to your gauge cluster and it works great.

November 25, 2013Image of item incorrectThe picture listed here is incorrect. I bought this to install on the test port of my 2000 F350 7.3 Powerstroke. I have not installed it yet, so I can’t confirm it’s the correct part, but I believe it is. I will post a follow up once it’s installed. I’m also going to try and post the correct picture for this item.

February 7, 2021temp sensorused on my ls swap with the recommended adapter , the temp sensor doesn’t have a plunger assemble like most coolant temp sensors causing the temp sensor to initially pick up coolant temp at first but once the headers warmed up it picked up the external heat of the headers causing the gauge to read incorrectly.
