Description
The Permatex 80653 silicone extreme brake parts lubricant is an environmentally safe lubricant that prevents disc brake Squeal and chatter while protecting caliper pins, sleeves, bushings and pistons against seizing and galling. Its silicone, Non-petroleum based formula makes it excellent on sliding surfaces.

April 28, 2023I should’ve used this a long time ago!This is a must-have if you work on your vehicle. I used it for my brake pad’s corner and backing. I put this on the piston where it pushes out and touches the back of the brake pads. I used this on the boot protector as well as the caliper pins. Since this is silicone, it’s safe for metal and rubber contact. I used this for shocks too. Anti-seize the threads.

Read from other reviews and from online responses that it is the best choice when deciding between the purple and the orange permatex. This one is specifically said to be good with rubber and other plastics, so it’s safe and a great option for my 2010 Subaru Forester.

August 29, 2022Hard to spreadI can’t speak to the performance of this product yet. However it didn’t spread well. I pulled out cap and it left a hole where the brush was, the product never tried to level. Getting it on the brush and putting on brakes wasnt as easy as other products

January 24, 2021stop noiseI install new Front pad brake 2 years ago for Toyota Camry LE 2003 without this stuff. My wife drive this car. When she brake it makes noise. After I put this stuff my brake does not make noise anymore. Take time to do the right way :)Hope it will last for long time.HP

November 26, 2020The best for quieting down disc brake noiseThis is a must have if you want to get rid of the noise on your disc brakes. It holds up better than the purple stuff (which turns black after several hundred miles due to it breaking down). Being that this is silicone it can be applied around plastic and rubber brake components especially on the brake caliper bolts.

June 4, 2021Muy altas mis expectativas?Para ser un producto de aplicación hasta 1649 grados C y de uso en partes móviles del caliper como guías y puntos de contacto con la base metálica de las balatas, sorprende la cantidad de aceite que se derramó del envase durante el transporte, debido a un problema de empacado. Esto ocurre a temperatura ambiente alta de 45 grados C. Habrá que ver su comportamiento en calipers que seguramente estarán por arriba de esas temperaturas en operación normal.
